I’ve had a fair go at being a husband and father, a vet and occasional blogger.
Now I’m also a pilgrim. From late April to early June 2014 I walked El Camino de Santiago, otherwise known as the Way of St. James, taking the “French Way” from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela.
This is the story of a fairly unfit middle-aged vet who heard the call of the Camino. It is written mainly for myself, and for my friends who can’t go but would like to experience the walk with me through these blog pages.
Of course, the story goes on. Life is a journey, so in that sense we’re always on Camino. I’m working my way through the Camino Francés again, in little sections this time. And there are other walks to write about.
Walk with me, as I learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

Gideon! I remember you! We finished our Camino Frances in Santiago early June 2014 and I’m sure we chatted at the airport on 7 June – you were also friends with Ruth, Jenny, Julie, the Aussies. I walked with my daughter Chelsea and her friend Yasmin. You are so blessed to be doing this again!

“Walk with me, as I learn the unforced rhythms of grace.” <— I need to remember this phrase more often. In fact, I see a drawing forming in my mind’s eye
